Online certificate course on lay counselling is a course conducted by NIMHANS in collaboration with Apta Salaha Kendra (ASK). The aim is to produce as many volunteers within the community to support their fellow people who are having mental distress and to identify and refer people with mental disorder. The course has been approved by Board of Studies, NIMHANS Digital Academy under section 24 of the NIMHANS Act 2012. This course has online as well as in -person practical module. In online module videos and other materials will be provided to participants one week in advance and online discussion will be there by the end of the week. Twelve such online sessions will be conducted over a period of 12 weeks. In in-person practical module participants will get opportunity to take part in live counselling sessions in Three different centres -NIMHANS OPD,NIMHANS Telemanas , NIMHANS Role Play ( NDA Building)
